The Dallas Blooms Festival in the Dallas Arboretum

From February 19-April 10, 2022, the Dallas Arboretum is home to the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest. This beautiful festival is presented by the Veritex Community Bank and displays 100 different varieties of spring flower bulbs. The theme of the Dallas Blooms Festival is “Birds in Paradise” and will include bird flights, talks, demos, and more. It will also showcase four extraordinary peacock topiaries and 500,000 spring blooms. Some of the staples in the festival include the hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and thousands of azaleas.

Some of the other activities to enjoy in this six-week festival are book signing and talks, cooking courses, tastings, beer and wine pairings, live entertainment and music, kid’s activities, and even some Easter fun. Even though the festival ends in April, that doesn’t mean you’re out of luck because the Dallas Arboretum has events all year round, with the Cool Thursdays Concert Series next on the bill. The never-ending activities are sure to keep you busy no matter what. If this festival is something you’re passionate about, look into the Lakewood homes for sale. Lakewood is the neighboring area to the Dallas Arboretum.

The Dallas Art Fair in the center of the Downtown Arts District

From April 21-24, 2022, the center of the Downtown Arts District (within the Fashion Industry Gallery) is home to the Dallas Art Fair. The Arts District comprises 68 acres with a 74,000 square foot exhibition space that’s located in a mid-century modern building. Within the exhibition space is a setup of various customized booths. The fair itself includes many wonderful things like collectors and modern-themed art pieces in curated exhibitions.

Another cool thing about the Arts District that the fair is held in is that it has many iconic landmarks, such as the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. There’s so much more than just these awesome landmarks. Dallas is home to the iconic state fair every fall. Running from September 30th through October 23, 2022, the fair brings visitors from around the state and across the whole country. It has everything, including a huge carnival, livestock shows, and creative arts contests. There’s also a rodeo, concerts, and perhaps the star of the show — the Big Tex BBQ & Chili Challenge. This family-friendly fair is perfect for all ages, and there’s plenty to do whether you’re looking to compete, learn something, or just eat a ton of good Texas food.

The BMW Dallas Marathon Festival

From December 9-11, 2022, the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival promotes physical fitness and health. This non-profit festival began in 1971 and still goes on today, showcasing many landmarks and entertainment districts. In 1997, the festival decided to name its beneficiary as the Scottish Rite for Children and has since raised over four million dollars for the organization. This run for a good cause is the oldest marathon in Texas and is also considered the largest single-day sporting event in Dallas. With this being the 51st year and counting, this marathon hosts thousands of participants and spectators.
